"I thought he covered it in the "Direct Path" videos:
You have to keep your hand on the switch.
Or are you asking if it was made permanent?"
See Kenneth's newer videos in the video section on the 7 stages of enlightenemtn he came up with. That was the result of the experiment.

Thanks!
So now we have Ken's new stages of enlightenment list:
"1) A&P
2) 1st Path by the technical model
3) 2nd Path by the TM
4) 3rd Path by the TM
5) 4th Path by the TM
6) Emotional transformation
7) End of self-contraction
The emotional transformation means that you no longer glom together a specific set of mental and physical phenomena, invest it with self and call it an emotion. The information still comes in the form of raw materials (5 physical senses and mental impressions) but is no longer mistaken for a "thing" called my emotion.
The end of self-contraction is similar, but more subtle: the group of phenomena that was previously seen as the "I" is no longer recognized as "I". There is only object. "

What happens to The Witness at stage 7?
A related question: it seems like some earlier part of the path debunked the belief (at a non-conceptual level) that any set of sensations was an "I." So is stage 7 just the point where those sensations don't even SEEM like an "I" anymore?

Yes, that's it, Adam. They don't even seem like an "I" anymore. But life goes on, of course, because your life and personality never depended on the "I" in the first place.
