Lag between sits and rest off life? was created by meekan
I have had some experience now with that there seems to be changes occuring in the way my sits look.
But I don't experience that it spills over to the rest of life.
I had this with what seemed like dark night.
I have no idea of exactly what my latest change represents, but the last three days I haven't been in negative emotions like before. I have been more calm.
But today after my sit has been spent in a tense, anxious mood.
Is this a common occurence?
Perhaps one learns something while sitting, and then goes out and generalizes this through the application of this new way of relating to the world?
I.e. what clicked on the cushion needs to be practiced off the cushion to get the corresponding click there?
Am I making sense, or is the change on the cushion just illusory?
Metta to you all!

Hi Meekan,
In my experience it takes some time and practise before equanimity becomes stable. Once your baseline is firmly on the other side, dips to dukkha nanas become more rare. Also the progress through the nanas does not always happen in straight line and you may need to spiral back to do some housecleaning before moving on again. I think the fastest way to make progress is to keep the momentum going and keep out of the way. This organic development automatically chooses the best route if you just let it do it
Best,
Antero.

Hi, Antero!
This is a gem of info!
I wouldof guessed that, but I needed to hear it from someone experienced!
Many thanks!

I'm finding a real challenge for me after DN(maybe) is that my awareness is much more subtle, as are phenomana. I used to get hit over the head with things(sensations) and I got used to noticing things at that level, but now everything seems more quiet and calm. I think I need to relax into this new level of awareness. I'll think that I lost mindfulness for a while then relaize that I was actually aware, but at a much more subtle level then previously. I don't know if that helps or makes sense, I hope it does. Glad to hear that things have eased up for you, at least a little.

Yeah, Rev...
I think I may have experienced some of that. Thanks for putting it into perspective!
