how to note while engaged in challenging intellectual activities was created by obobinde
Hello everyone,
i am currently translating old tibetan manuscript and it is demanding on the concentration side. my problem is that if i start to note sensation or mental processes, my abstraction abilities decreases greatly and it makes the translation thing very difficult. are there anyone here who have find a way to keep practising while engage in heavy intellectual tasks ?
thank you
nicolas

Hey Nicolas,
There is a threshold of how much you can concentrate on something before you loose the ability to investigate it.
You can't really note anything you are totally absorbed in. My trick is to keep a thread of awareness (say 5%) on the physical body at all times when I'm doing a mentally intensive task.
