The breath breaths on it's own, it needs no motivation.

The breath has been and remains the heart of my practice. To me, breathing out is to relax and release tension. It is astonishing to me how deep this rabbit hole goes. Relaxing the body allows electrical energy to wander where it will without hindrance and as for the brain and mind...lots of relaxing to be found there too.

I was doing it today. If you are watching the breath you can also see when you get embedded in thought and things like that because there's a restriction that occurs and the breath becomes shallow and irregular. It's a great feedback mechanism.

Reminds me of the way Pema teaches meditation.
Follow the outbreath.
Pause...
And again.
Then again, now I'm not really noting/following the breath at all during my sits.
