Question about "the direct path" was created by chris
Hi,
I listened to Buddhist Geeks podcast 157[/url:1wmd02sq]. Kenneth talked about his wife's ability to be awake, and that she exceeded his ability in this regard, though she hadn't yet attained first path at that time. (around 18mins of the podcast)
What are these direct path teachings, can you point me to some no-nonsense resources/books?
Does anyone have any input on this book 'The Direct Path'[/url:1wmd02sq]
I'm interested in meditation, I practice daily but haven't attained stream entry. My interest in meditation/enlightenment is almost singularly about understanding 'what am I, wtf is all of this?' It's all I've ever really been interested in, I'll do almost anything to work towards an understanding. If I can get there a bit quicker, and save 10 years on the cushion then I'm very interested in what will help me do this.
Are direct path teachings related to vedanta?
Thanks, Peace,

Direct path would be teachers like Eckhart Tolle, Adyashanti, Nisargadatta, Ramana. Or Kenneth's 2nd/3rd gear.
I tend to think of it as more suitable for advanced practitioners but YMMV. Like most people around here I would probably say note your ass off until stream entry.
