NYC Pragmatic Dhamma Thread

As requested, this is a thread to discuss the podcast and classes at NYC Pragmatic Dhamma.

Hope to see you some of you folks there tomorrow at CRSNY above think coffee, 4PM.

Just a reminder, we have our regularly scheduled class Saturday afternoon at 4PM at crsny, above think coffee.

At this point the class could really use some support, we haven't had enough folks for the last couple of sits to cover the room fee. If this keeps up, we probably won't be able to continue.

That's too bad Owen. I hope attendance picks up. People, if you are in NYC, you should get your butt over there!!!

How much do you need per week to make the classes viable?

Around $25 per class would be nice. If I get 4 or 5 folks attending, that should be easy.

Have to cancel class this Saturday though, since I'm going to be out of town.

Just to gauge intrest, would anybody be interested in a half-day sit in NYC? I'm wondering if I should move it to a more &quot;event&quot; kinda model, or I should just start getting better at promoting the class, which I admittedly suck at. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

It's rare to have a pragmatic dharma regular sitting/teaching opportunity - I'd encourage anyone in the area to drop in and take advantage of it!

Do you have a paypal account? I'm sure people here (myself particularily) wouldn't mind subsidizing $25+ for class/room cost at CSRS, so that we will have a meat space place to practice in person.

Thanks for all the kind offers of dana, though it looks like I'm going to move the class to skype/google hangouts.
Will probably change the time a bit also. Stay tuned for more details.

Ok, so google hangouts it is. I'll get an account setup and we will try for Saturday from 4:00-5:00 PM EST.
Please reply with your google+ name so I can be sure to add you. This should be fun, might be able to get a podcast out of it also.
