being with emotions

I think in this talk (I only read the transcript) Ken McLoed says some very useful things about being present with emotions and how they teach us and show us truth. He gives some very ordinary-life examples, too. Thought you all might find it interesting.

For example, one person asks in frustration "why do i see the world this way? I guess I need to think about it?" and he says "...there’s a difference between being able to arrive at that
answer—which is essentially an intellectual or conceptual process—and
actually experiencing the feeling. When you can actually experience the
feeling and be awake in that experience, then you see. It doesn’t come
through a conceptual process; you just see what’s going on. So I’m going
to encourage you to put the work into experiencing the feeling rather
than to figure out why. Or as I like to put it, to experience and know
the feeling as opposed to understanding it."
