Here is the beginning of a list:
from Jake2: Hiroshi Motoyama
Theories of the Chakras
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/8178220237/ref=s9_cxhsh_co_g14_ir01?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=left-2&pf_rd_r=146Q4E6YQ1ATEGYZ4M40&pf_rd_t=3201&pf_rd_p=1280661782&pf_rd_i=typ01
Awakening the Chakras and Emancipation,
which highlights experiences of chakra awakening as well as offers
cautionary remarks.
from me: Huai-Chin Nan http://www.amazon.com/Tao-Longevity-Transformation-Wen-Kuang-Chu/dp/087728542X/ref=sr_1_7?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1326661533&sr=1-7
and his student William Bodri http://www.amazon.com/Spiritual-Paths-Their-Meditation-Techniques/dp/1452869367/ref=lh_ni_t
I have the sense that we are at the threshhold of this sort of information becoming much more commonly available, driven partly by interest in Asian spiritual practices, partly by martial arts, and partly by Asian medicine. This information is in the Venn overlap of all three...

Kate,
Thanks for the resources. Will add them to my ever-expanding Amazon wish list.
Since we're talking about energetics, have you ever heard of the qigong master Yan Xin? He's done some pretty amazing distant qigong experiments. Here's a link to his homepage:

He's even tight with the Bushes!!!
