I am here.
I exist.
I have and feel my feelings.
I think my thoughts.
I can see what is empty.
I am intimate with what is going on.
I'm on a new passion for a certain vipassana technique or style. I'm doing it mostly on my van pool commute each day but at other times as well. I'm limiting (as much as that is possible) my awareness to the changes in sensations in and around my nostrils, upper lip, etc. as I breathe. Each change, taking great care to maintain momentum and continuity to be aware of each detail. Trying to get more detail all the time and to STICK WITH IT as consistently as possible.
Great treasures are located in this spot, I think.
I'm not trying to get to a certain place on the "map," I'm not trying to progress to another "path." I'm just trying to SEE what is going on right now and notice how that changes.
A beautiful thing about the breath and the sensation of the breath is that there is really no doubt that it is actually happening, that it is true and real.

Alex and Jackson both mentioned the Anapanasati Sutta. You should read it over and see if it rings any of your bells:

Replied by Dharma Comarade on topic I am here
As stated (I think) I'm meditating with renewed effort these days and my 'non-sitting' awareness is getting sharper.
Right now I'm sitting at work in front of a mostly white computer screen and on the screen, between my eyes and the screen, out of the corner of my eyes, and all around the screen I'm noticing an incredible amount of activity. What is it? Hard to describe -- the closest I can come is "small floating objects, and small objects that blink in and out of existence quckly or slowly." it's almost like dust. All these things are grey or black and have always been there, I'm pretty certain.
this is not distracting or unpleasant, just interesting.
